Duct tape is your friend – This one is debatable, but we think you’re going to want to tape your shoes on. If you don’t, the mud will suck them right off of your feet, and you’ll spend 10 minutes elbow deep in the mud trying to recover it.
You do need to be careful not to tape them on too tight though. You don’t want to cut off circulation or restrict movement of your ankle. You also don’t want to cover the soul of the shoe too much, as this will take away traction and cause you to slip.
It’s a fine line, but if you want to keep your shoes on your feet, definitely consider it.
